Thanks for the Memories...1966
Some of us went into Arts and Science, some of us went into Engineering, some of us into Teacher's College and some of us into ...heaven's knows what paths we took! How differently we went, parting our separate ways after high-school! I think of the Bryan Adams lyrics from the summer of '69...I know, I know it's not '66 but the sentiment is exactly what I felt about 1966.
-- John Hartig
"oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life..."
Summer of '69 Lyrics by Bryan Adams

Message: Hi:
I'm from the class of '66. I used to play hardball with Matt Scholtz and
Mike Forte in the 60's. The bat we used was called "Old Faithful". I'm
a photographer now and web designer. I'm thinking of using your format to make a class of '66 website. Do I have your permission for this?

John Hartig!!!!!!!!!
Hey. This is good to hear from you!
What a nice surprise!
First of all, you're welcome to use our website as a format.
It worked very well for us.
If you need to contact our web designer (my son) for any information
or assistance, please let me know.
And secondly, I'm sorry to inform you that I had to de-commission Old
Faithful. I kept that bat for a long time, out of sentiment, but there's a time
when you gotta let go. However, I still have the glove I used at the Victoria Park diamond.
Remember the "Automatics"? That was a home run if the ball went into the
trees.
I believe I have a picture of the old gang. If you like, I can scan the photo and send it to you.
Nice to hear from you. And thanks for stirring up some good memories.
Matt Scholtz

Give Us Your News & Updates Since 1966
This will become a regular cumulative feature of the 1966 website: reports on our grads and where they've been and where they are now.
There was actually a Reunion for the 1966 class in 1986 [a 20 year thing] but unfortunately I did not attend. Let me see, what excuse did I have then for not being there. Oh yes, I lived in Winnipeg going to the Canadian Mennonite Bible College. The Class Reunion was organized by Dr. David Renner and some others of our 1966 grads. The gala event was held at the Kress Hotel, in Preston, Cambridge. Hmmm, I wonder what they had for dessert?

This Website is an Off-shoot From the 1964 Alumni:
Who created [the original of] this website?
It was put together by a person who might have been a next generation student at St. Jerome's - if there were a St. Jerome's and if he lived in Kitchener.
This website was prepared for the Committee by Stephen Scholtz, Matthew's 28 year old son. A MultiMedia Arts graduate of Sheridan College, Stephen now designs websites for a company in Toronto, while maintaining his own audio website at
www.djshagz.com. If the .com is familiar, that's because our website is hosted on his server.
In putting together this website, Stephen was ably assisted by Mike Mazza, a native of Tillsonburg and graphic arts graduate of Sheridan.

John Hartig has asked for permission to apply the layout and design of this website to accommodate an analogous website for the class of 1966. This illustrates how a seed can grow into many branches.
